The 12 most annoying types of Facebookers - CNN.com
here are lots of fun, interesting people you're happy to talk to when they stroll up. Then there are the other people, the ones who make you cringe when you see them coming. This article is about those people. Sure, Facebook can be a great tool for keeping up with folks who are important to you. Take the status update, the 160-character message that users post in response to the question, "What's on your mind?" An artful, witty or newsy status update is a pleasure -- a real-time, tiny window into a friend's life. But far more posts read like naval-gazing diary entries, or worse, spam. A recent study categorized 40 percent of Twitter tweets as "pointless babble," and it wouldn't be surprising if updates on Facebook, still a fast-growing social network, break down in a similar way.

But it's difficult to say whether the Web is becoming more or less anonymous, she said. 'What's increasing is the range of forums and the types of anonymous environments people have to choose among,' she said.''

The future of libraries, with or without books - CNN.com
eww gross: " A rise in a young, library-chic subculture on blogs and on Twitter is putting a new face on this changing role, said Linda C. Smith, president of the Association for Library and Information Science Education. Some wear tattoos, piercings and dress like they belong on the streets of Brooklyn instead of behind bookshelves. They're also trying on new titles. Instead of librarians, they're "information specialists" or "information scientists.""

Microsoft researcher converts his brain into 'e-memory' - CNN.com
I hope this man's predictions are wrong. Aside from my professional concerns (think of the magnitude of that task: categorizing and providing access to the memories of every human on earth!), I believe that the ability to forget some stuff is vital to human survival and even a blessing. What a burden life would be if we felt the need to make a record of every single experience and feeling.
