http://www.fastcompany.com/video/why-change-is-so-hard-self-control-is-exhaustible

You hear something a lot about change: People won’t change because they’re too lazy. Well, I’m here to stick up for the lazy people. In fact, I want to argue that what looks like laziness is actually exhaustion. The proof comes from a psychology study that is absolutely fascinating. The Simple, Secret iPhone Tethering Fix | TechWatch | Fast Company
As Apple's music event draws closer, there's plenty of speculation that a new version of iTunes might be nigh--and with it, a pwn-resistant version of iPhone OS 3.1. So with a healthy fear of Apple's anti-hacker scheming, it bears mentioning that not all iPhone workarounds involve offending the Cupertino gods. And not all involve downloads, or Terminal commands, or actual work. This is one such workaround.

Report: Nine Scientifically Proven Ways to Get Retweeted on Twitter | Popwise | Fast Company
Somehow, the fact that someone took the effort to do this kind of study (and, incidentally, cleverly publishing part of it in preparation for launching a book) further confirms my personal theory that "Twitter":Twitter and other forms of social networking are so high up in the "Marketing":Marketing "hype":Hype cycle that they are actually having an adverse effect on the average "IQ":Wikipedia:Intelligence_quotient of most people in the online business.

Corporate Social Media Policies: The Good, the Mediocre, and the Ugly | Fast Company
CNN’s senior editor of Middle Eastern affairs, Octavia Nasr, was shown the door Wednesday after sending a tweet that expressed respect for the Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah. Despite a lengthy explanation of her 140 character foot-in-mouth, CNN brass stood by their decision. The news organization has pretty clear guidelines about how its employees (and freelancers and interns) should represent themselves on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media destinations. That got us thinking: Of all the corporate social media policies out there, which are intelligent and balanced, and which are draconian? We've compiled several examples here--but are still looking for more (email us your company's policy to ideas@fastcompany.com and we'll add it to the mix).
